
Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a physiological condition in which the median nerve in the wrist is compressed which causes symptoms such as tingling, numbness,
night time wakening, pain, coldness, and sometimes weakness in parts of the hand. The increased use of the hand, repetitive grasping and manipulating activities all contribute to CTS. Injuries which are work-related often result because of computer peripherals that do not offer ease and convenience when used. And one of these injuries is CTS.
FrogPad hopes to provide solution to prevent the occurrence of CTS amongst office workers. The FrogPad is a one-handed keyboard which is used together with a USB Keyboard compatible laptop, PDA or Pocket PCs to ensure that one's
typing experience is maximized without resulting to injuries. The keypad can also pair up with computers and MACs. The design of the FrogPad, as seen in the picture, is suitable for fast data entry because of the letter layout. The letters are situated as to their efficiency of use. Fifteen of the most used letters are placed in a location in the keypad that makes it a more comfortable and productive device that can prevent CTS and other work-related bodily tensions.
