
Before digital cameras became popular, I used scanners to input my photos in the
computer. You place the front of your picture in the glass panel of the scanner, press the 'scan' button and voila, your pictures are in the PC. This was how I used to share my photos through the internet.
Nowadays,
digital cameras usually have USB connectors where you can directly upload your pictures in your PC. It skips the task of scanning your pictures.
But for me, the scanner is still very useful because I like to put my old pictures in my computer. It's a way of preserving it. Plus, with scanners, my old, damaged, cherished photos can be edited with my computer.
